A Swedish woman has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for attempting to smuggle a massive amount of cocaine into Suffolk County.

Prosecutors say two packages containing 10 kilograms of cocaine from California were intercepted by police at a FedEx facility in August 2024.

During the investigation, law enforcement officials discovered that Amanda Abrahamsson went to a FedEx in Bohemia to inquire about the packages.

She also called FedEx to track the packages and provided a callback number.

Authorities called her and arranged a meeting where she believed she would pick up the packages at a Walgreens in Patchogue.

Upon arrival, she took the packages from an undercover officer and was immediately arrested.

Prosecutors say she provided a written confession and admitted to her role as a drug courier after being apprehended.

She pleaded guilty to criminal possession of a controlled substance in April.

The Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office says she will be deported to Sweden after serving her sentence.
