A Bay Shore teacher accused of sexually abusing dozens of students surrendered his passport in court on Tuesday morning.

The 76-year-old Thomas Bernagozzi was described by prosecutors as a “serial child abuser.”

Bernagozzi’s accusers were 4 and 8-years-old when they say the abuse started.

At least 45 other former students have also filed civil lawsuits against Bernagozzi and the school district.

He worked at Clarkson Elementary and Gardner Manor Elementary from 1970-2000.
