Someone is distributing flyers that declare "White Lives Matter" in Center Moriches.
They've been turning up on lawns and in driveways in plastic bags, weighted down with small rocks. That's similar to how
other KKK and white supremacist flyers have circulated in Long Island communities in the past.
They read, "White Lives Matter. It's not racist to love your own people. Take a stand. Being white is right."
James Castiglione, of Center Moriches, told News 12 that he found one in his driveway Wednesday morning.
"It's destructive. It's offensive, and it's upsetting," he said. "It has no place in society."
Other residents reported seeing the flyers on Union Avenue, Inwood Road, Ocean Avenue and Sedgemere Road.
Suffolk police say distributing the flyers does not constitute a hate crime.
But residents want whoever's behind them to get out of town.
"Whoever did it, stay away," Castiglione says. "It doesn't belong in this community."
