White supremacist recruitment flyers were found on the South Shore of Suffolk County today.
A News 12 viewer sent in a photo of the flyer. It shows two white faces, with the words "we have a right to exist" written underneath.
The flyer is from a hate group called "Vanguard America." Two were found in Bay Shore. Another was spotted at the Islip train station.
The flyers have since been taken down, but residents told News 12 they're shocked they were put up in the first place.
"Everybody gets along in this neighborhood nicely,” said Ellisha Haynes-Cundari. “And I don't know what they're trying to do but it's not going to work around here. We will stand up for our community."
"Something like this shouldn't be happening on Long Island,” said John Sepulveda. “I'm very disappointed, whoever did it."
Suffolk police and MTA say they have had no reports of the flyers. The MTA is investigating.
