Students at a Glen Cove elementary school learned a lesson in biology today.
First-grade students at the Deasy School used magnifying glasses to study and dissect fish in order to learn more about the creatures.
"Just being able to touch a heart, touch the gills, and touch other parts of the fish, really helps them learn about the different body parts, and also about how our body parts are made as well," said first-grade teacher Wendy Romanoff.
After dissecting the fish, the students cooked and ate the creatures.
The educational "Fish Tales" program was presented by the Long Island Children's Museum.
