'Heard an explosion.' Multialarm fire in Bridgeport sends one to hospital, displaces 16 people and two cats

A large presence of firefighters rushed to a Freeport neighborhood Sunday night as flames ripped through multiple garages behind homes.

A News 12 crew on Pershing Place observed damages to two garages that can each hold two cars.

Fire officials said there were no injuries.

A cause of the fire was not immediately known as of Sunday night.
