FDNY: 1 person critically injured in Mott Haven fire

The fire started on the third floor of 530 E. 138th St. minutes before 1 a.m., according to the FDNY.

One person was critically injured following a rescue from an overnight fire in Mott Haven.
The FDNY says the fire started on the third floor of 530 E. 138th St. minutes before 1 a.m. Fire officials say one person was rushed to Harlem Hospital in critical condition.
In video from the moments firefighters were rescuing those who were in their homes, ladder trucks were seen stretched to the windows of the third floor. Residents were seen outside gasping for air and one man was seen on a stretcher.
The FDNY says the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
