The FBI says it has set a new record this year doing background checks on gun owners.
According to the FBI, they conducted more firearm background checks this year than any year since it started keeping record in 1998.
The number is about 16.5 million checks conducted between January and October.
In 2019, the agency conducted approximately 12.3 million firearm background checks.
