Fauci: Study launched to evaluate safety of COVID-19 vaccine in pregnant women

Federal officials say they are keeping a close watch on pregnant women who have received the COVID-19 vaccine.
"Several thousands of pregnant individuals have actually gotten vaccinated, and the CDC has established a V-safe pregnancy registry to follow the outcomes among vaccinated pregnant individuals," says Dr. Anthony Fauci.
Dr. Fauci discussed the program during a Coronavirus Task Force briefing Wednesday.
Dr. Fauci said Pfizer and BioNTech have launched a randomized, placebo-controlled study to evaluate safety in pregnant people.
