One Moriches farm is dedicated to providing work for adults with disabilities.
Nearly three dozen greenhouse workers have developmental disabilities at Smile Farms at IGHL.
Jim McCann, the founder of 1-800-Flowers, says he wanted adults with disabilities, like his brother Kevin, to have a meaningful work opportunity.
McCann and Walt Stockton, who runs group homes for adults with disabilities, came up with the idea for Smile Farms.
McCann tells News 12 that their workers benefit socially with a job they enjoy and financially with a paycheck - something many adults with disabilities struggle to find.
The founders say they are hoping to continue to expand their model to new farms across the country.
