The family of a man who was killed last Tuesday is turning to the public to help catch those responsible.
Police classified the killing of 22-year-old Jose Velez as a homicide. He was the oldest child of eight siblings.
Velez's family says he knew the two suspects from a previous disagreement three years ago, but remained focused on working and providing for his family.
Velez's mother says he had just dropped off his 2-year-old daughter when one of the suspects approached him. Moments later, police say a second man pulled out a gun and shot Velez. His shooting came during the same week as the vicious killing of 15-year-old Lesandro Guzman-Feliz.
Velez's family says wanted posters throughout the neighborhood have been removed, which is part of the reason why they are appealing to the public.
