The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is investigating a near-miss by two airplanes over New York City.



According to officials, a Delta 747 heading to John F. Kennedy Airport and a smaller Shuttle America jet out of LaGuardia Airport were turning away from each other at the point where they lost the required separation.

The incident occurred on June 13 around 3:45 p.m.

No one was hurt.
