(10/23/06) CENTRAL ISLIP - A federal grand jury issued a new 10-count indictment against an ex-Huntington Station teacher accused of possession of child pornography.

Michael Reiner, of East Meadow, taught at the Long Island School for the Gifted before being arrested. Police say they found more than 500 pictures and 60 videos of child pornography on his computer. According to police, Reiner has admitted to fetishes of cannibalism, child slavery and young boys.

Reiner's lawyer slammed prosecutors for demonizing his client in the media. He says Reiner has no criminal record, or any history of parents or children accusing him of any wrongdoing. A bail hearing is scheduled for Thursday, October 26.
