EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin returned to Long Island Friday to speak with local business leaders at an LIA event at Crest Hollow Country Club.

Zeldin took questions on issues such as wind farms, potential cuts to his department, energy independence, clean water and artificial intelligence.

His comments on clean water at the event got the attention of Adrienne Esposito, from Citizens Campaign for the Environment.

She tells News 12 she was encouraged by his message regarding PFAs, or chemicals found in drinking water and hopes they will not change the regulations on the level of chemicals permitted.

Zeldin's appearance was met by protesters who gathered at the club entrance on Jericho Turnpike.
