MacArthur Airport in the running for best small airport in the nation

Voting is now open for USA Today's 10Best Small Airports competition, with Long Island MacArthur Airport competing against 19 other airports from across the country.
The Ronkonkoma airport has made the list five times. Last year the airport rose to the second spot.
Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter says it's a testament to the improvement done in the past several years.
"People love our airport," she said. "They love the ease, the cleanliness, the friendly TSA agents. They even smile and say, ‘Hello.’"
Voting is open through Oct. 5.
