An 8-year-old in East Meadow made her birthday wish to give back to kids in the hospital.
Instead of gifts for her birthday, Emma Vulpi asked for money so she can buy toys for sick children at NYU Winthrop.
She says she raised $1,000 and went with her mom Michele Vulpi to shop for the presents.
Emma did this for her 7th birthday too, after getting the idea from the internet.
"I was actually seeing it on YouTube, all this cancer stuff, and it made me feel upset because they don't really have any toys and stuff," she says.
Michele Vulpi, Emma's says she's proud of her daughter for her selflessness.
"To think of other kids and to think of sick kids who really need it just made me very, very proud of her," she says.
Emma will drop the toys off at the hospital on Friday, Aug 7.
