East End prepares for strong rip currents, heavy rain from Hurricane Dorian

The East End is expected to feel the effects of Hurricane Dorian by Friday, and neighboring towns are getting ready.

The hurricane has hit parts of the Bahamas leaving at least 20 people dead, and is now effecting parts of the Carolinas.
Southampton Emergency Management Director Steve Troyd says they are expecting strong riptides, heavy rainfall and the potential for some beach erosion.
The Southampton Parks Department were out on Thursday preparping for the storm.
Officials are reminding swimmers to be mindful of strong rip currents, and say there are no lifeguards on duty at this time.
