Lemonade stands on the East End are helping cats and dogs in need get a new lease on life.
Kids like 9-year-old Eric Vashovsky and his 13-year-old brother Alan are selling refreshing drinks, brownies and other goodies to raise money for ARF, the Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons.
ARF has been helping animals since the 1970s. Over the last four years, it's rolled out a "Lemonarf" program that helps kids set up their own stands to in turn help animals in need.
"We provide them with kits and recipes for lemonade, cups, a money jar, and the proceeds are donated back to us," says Scott Howe, executive director of ARF.
