Wet weather moves in across Long Island, more rain to come Thursday

WHAT'S NEW: Scattered showers will move in late this evening and continue Wednesday morning. Rain moves out late Wednesday morning with some sun and warm weather for the afternoon.
WHAT'S NEXT: A batch of heavier rain with gusty winds will arrive Thursday morning. Weather to Watch for this but the worst of it might miss us to the northwest. Improving weather Thursday afternoon into Friday. Unsettled weather continues with periods of rain on Saturday, brighter skies Sunday.

WEDNESDAY: Morning showers with the slight chance of a thunderstorm. Becoming partly sunny and warm. Highs near 78 degrees with southwest to west winds 5 to 10 mph. Sunset: 8:23.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Mostly cloudy with patchy fog and the chance of a passing shower. Lows near 64. South southeast wind 5 to 10 mph.
THURSDAY: Morning showers and storms. Chance for brief heavy rain. Becoming partly sunny. with highs near 76. Lows near 60.
FRIDAY: Mostly sunny nice, and warm. Highs near 78. Lows near 62.
SATURDAY: Mostly cloudy with periods of rain. Highs near 73. Chance for showers early at night. Lows near 62.
