A section of the Cross Bronx Expressway could soon see a major makeover, thanks to a hefty grant awarded to the Department of Transportation.
A connecting roadway, as well as dedicated bus lanes and pathways for bicyclists and pedestrians, are just some of the upgrades considered in the $150 million proposed plan.
Gov. Kathy Hochul says the grant will help correct mistakes of the past and enhance safety, but Transportation Alternatives and the Bronx River Alliance have created a petition calling for a stop to the "connector" portion of the project.
