The historic grandstand and clubhouse at Belmont Park is set to be demolished on Friday.
The 1.25 million-square-foot structure was built in 1968. It is expected to take between four and six months to completely tear down.
Belmont Park is getting a complete makeover, which includes a smaller clubhouse and grandstand with more modern amenities.
Seventy-five percent of materials from the old building will be recycled and some of it will be reused in the new building.
The new Belmont Park is set to open in 2026.
