Deer rescued from icy water in Shirley

Suffolk Marine Bureau officers rescued a deer that fell through ice in Shirley Sunday.

Suffolk Marine Bureau officers rescued a deer that fell through ice in Shirley Sunday.
The deer was found at Narrow Bay off Smith Point County Park shortly after 4 p.m.
Officers lifted the fawn out of the water and onto an ice sled then pulled back to shore.
After being dried and wrapped in blankets, the deer was taken to an animal rescue center.
