The Town of Hempstead has voted unanimously to accept the findings of a judge and a state investigation that would allow them to seize the Capri Motor Inn through eminent domain.
The motel in West Hempstead closed its doors last year for safety violations.
Town officials say there were also structural issues, faulty smoke detectors and a history of criminal activity.
