A country club in Cutchogue has had its liquor license suspended for allegedly violating coronavirus protocols.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced the punishment for the North Fork Country Club following a wedding at the venue Oct. 17 that resulted in a so-called "super-spreader" event.
A total of 113 people attending the wedding, more than double the number allowed under state orders.
At least 34 COVID-19 infections stemmed from the event and many more were asked to quarantine.
The announcement comes weeks after Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone said the country club was facing up to $17,000 in fines for the event.
