The third annual Learn-to-Skate event was held Saturday in East Meadow, giving children of all abilities a chance to lace up their skates and take to the ice.

The event welcomed kids ages 4 to 12.

Organizer Brittany Livingston told News 12 she wanted to create a program exclusively for children with special needs, noting there are not many activities where they can feel comfortable.

The event, held at the Northwell Health Ice Center, was sponsored by News 12.
