A stranded dolphin was rescued in Manhasset Bay Tuesday night.
The mammal got stuck in the mud during low tide near Great Neck.
Officials say the dolphin was lifted onto a kayak and dragged about 300 feet to an open area of water deep enough for it to swim.
A number of agencies responded to the scene to help guide the dolphin back to safety.
