A woman from Coram spends most of her time helping Long Islanders in need.
Branches Long Island is a nonprofit that provides essential items to people in need.
"We have moms just having a hard time, we have domestic violence survivors who fled and need our help," said Samantha Morales. "There's a stigma someone has to be homeless to need help, but sometimes it's just mom and dad loses a job and they need some groceries for a month."
People come to Branches Long Island for toiletries, diapers, wipes, formula, pet food, perishables, non-perishables and more.
"I think there's just something in my soul. I truly think I was put here to do this work," said Morales. "To see other people thriving when they just need help - to me there's no better feeling."
