The Plumbers Contractors Association of Long Island launched a tip line so that people can report unlicensed plumbers - hopefully before they begin working.

They warn this is a growing issue – and that it can leave victims with little to no recourse if work is incorrectly done or if plumbers disappear after being paid to do a job.

Any tips that are given will be sent to the plumbing license board in the town where the work is taking place, as well as to the supervisor or mayor.

People can call the tip line at 631-759-5592 or e-mail contactpcali@gmail.com.
