A man was fatally struck by a car while crossing a street early Saturday morning in Hempstead, according to police.
Authorities say the 42-year-old was hit around 1:30 a.m. while walking from Fulton Avenue. He then was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.
Police say the driver remained at the scene. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
