Connecticut airports secure $100 million in federal funding

The funds will upgrade the Transportation Security Administration's baggage screening systems, expand ticketing counters and improve the taxiways, according to officials.

Connecticut airports have secured $100 million in federal funding for the upcoming fiscal year.
More than three quarters of the money is going to Bradley International Airport. The funds will upgrade the Transportation Security Administration's baggage screening systems, expand ticketing counters and improve the taxiways, according to officials.
The Groton-New London Airport is getting nearly $3 million to improve airfield lighting and signage. About $2 million is marked for the Hartford-Brainard Airport for technical items like easement acquisition.
