Riders said they were feeling uneasy after hearing that a woman burned to death aboard a train in Coney Island on Sunday morning.

The incident marked the third straight day during which a crime occurred aboard a train in Brooklyn.

Despite the incident which police say was a homicide, a shooting on Saturday and a slashing on Friday, New York City stats reported earlier this month show that subway crime is down citywide from this time last year.

Riders told News 12 they come into the Coney Island station daily and are surprised this incident came so close to home.

"That's just crazy. I never would've even thought anything would've happened on a train that I take locally," one commuter said.

Buses were running from the Coney Island station to supplement the F train line.

For the most up to date information on how to get around, riders are advised to visit the MTA's website.
