A car crash that was caught on camera tore through the storefront of a Mill Basin business this week, leaving employees and shoppers shaken but unharmed.

The car jumped the curb in the parking lot and crashed into the storefront of Out-of-the-Box Shipping.

“One manager screamed for me to come upstairs,” an employee said. “I was watching the video when I heard the boom, ran up, and saw the car where it shouldn’t be.”

Video footage shows the car lodged inside the store.

Staff members say they quickly ensured the driver was safe and unharmed.

“Our main priority was to make sure she was OK,” said an employee. “She said she was fine.”

The driver was later able to get a ride home, according to staff members from Out-of-the-Box Shipping.

No injuries were reported, and damage to the store was described as minor.

“Our gate is busted, but it didn’t shatter the door,” one Out-of-the-Box Shipping employee said.

This crash is not an isolated incident. Staff members said it’s the second time a car has crashed into a storefront at the plaza.

In September, a vehicle slammed into the neighboring cleaners, shattering its glass storefront. They kept a piece of the shattered glass as a keepsake.

“Seems like it’s happening way more than it should be,” said a staff member at the Out-of-the-Box.

Business owners are now urging the property owner to install safety measures, such as protective bollards to prevent future crashes.

“Hopefully, this is a wake-up call,” an employee said.

The hope is that management will act before another crash occurs.
