An inpatient medical unit for veterans in Wappingers Falls is back open after being closed for months.
The 20-bed clinic at Castle Point VA had temporarily shut down on Feb. 1 while the hospital reevaluated staffing needs.
During the closure, veterans were referred to other VA and private clinics farther away.
Congressman Pat Ryan, an Army veteran, led rallies and called for the reopening, citing cuts to veteran care under the Trump administration.
Hospital officials say the closure was pre-planned and not tied to federal hiring or funding freezes.
