A car crash on the Long Island Expressway led to a backup of traffic Thursday in Brentwood.

A crumpled car could be seen near the median close to Exit 53.

Emergency services were on the scene.

All eastbound lanes were shut down temporarily.

Police have not said if anyone was injured.
