Members of the Brentwood community continue to search for answers after a school principal was placed on paid leave with no explanation.
The district has not spoken on the move involving John Callan, and Thursday night board members didn't address him by name, but read a statement.
"At no time should any assumption of guilt be made by anyone or of anyone. We ask that the district be given an opportunity to do our due diligence and ask our community to refrain from rumors, speculation, or false accusations," says the board.
As News 12 has reported, police and the Suffolk District Attorney have been contacted.
However, it's unclear if charges are filed.
