Camp Anchor members in Lido Beach on Sunday got an out of this world experience.
Astronaut Jasmin Moghbeli held a video chat with the group from aboard the International Space Station.
“It was amazing,” said Camper Jake Denizola. "Somehow we got a signal all the way from space."
Moghbeli grew up on Long Island and went to school in Baldwin. She was also a counselor at Camp Anchor from 1998 to 2001.
"She is in outer space. She could be communicating with anyone on the plant and one her two calls was Camp Anchor," says Colin Hintz who is the senior camp director.
Camp ANCHOR serves over 1,000 children and adults with special needs.
