The annual Andrew McMorris Foundation gala was held Tuesday, celebrating a life taken too soon.
The foundation is named after the 12-year-old Boy Scout who was killed by a drunk driver in 2018.
Andrew was hiking with his troop in Manorville when he died.
Now, the foundation raises money for scholarships for students across Long Island, and around the country.
Andrew's childhood friend, Carter Rubin, has sung at the gala before.
Carter tells News 12 Andrew had a lust for life, and he wrote a song to remember him.
