Various housing advocacy groups and residents are rallied Wednesday in Huntington Station.
They are supporting Gov. Kathy Hochul's Housing Compact Plan to legalize housing in the suburbs and create more affordable houses.
Many of the rally-goers demanded more housing to be built on Long Island for the working class and for some zoning laws to end.
"We have 1,325 families that tapped at our office in desperate need of rental housing," says Housing Help Inc. Executive Director Pilar Moya-Mancer "These families continue to struggle to make ends meet, which makes access to housing difficult for them."
