The Secaucus Police Department teamed with other town emergency services to hold an active shooter drill at the Meadowlands Expo Center.
The officers were given real-life scenarios to act out, the guns used paintball ammo and the fake victims were local Secaucus High School students. They were told to run, hide or fight – just as they should in a real active shooter situation.
"We quarterly train now once every four months with the SWAT team to get better at our tactics in case we are put in real life situation we can help mitigate it as quickly as possible,” says Officer Matthew Cutola.
Members of the Hudson County Regional SWAT team acted as instructors to evaluate the Secaucus officers.
