Five Long Island schools have received the prestigious honor of being ranked among the most challenging in the nation.
The Washington Post's annual list puts Locust Valley High School at number 80. Jericho High School was ranked 130th, South Side High School in Rockville Centre came in at 136 and Manhasset High School ranked 142. The Wheatley School in Old Westbury came in at 199.
The schools are chosen based on the number of advanced placement courses offered and the number of graduating seniors.
