Officials say five girls are safe this morning after being plucked from the waters off Long Beach.
The girls were rescued by emergency crews on Thursday and officials are warning beachgoers not to swim in an area without lifeguards.
According to officials, the swimmers were spotted by an emergency crew around 2 p.m.
The minors were taken to the hospital for examination and were given the all-clear and went home with their parents.
Officials in Long Beach are warning beachgoers that lifeguards are only on duty on the weekends. Lifeguards in Long Beach will be on duty daily starting June 27.
