Officials: 5 girls rescued from waters in Long Beach
Long Beach city officials say five girls had to be pulled from the waters Thursday.
They say the swimmers were spotted by an emergency crew around 2 p.m.
The minors were taken to the hospital for examination and were given the all-clear and went home with their parents.
Officials say there were no lifeguards on duty and say there are signs warning people not to swim when there are no lifeguards.
