Five former employees of the Girl Scouts of Suffolk County are filing a lawsuit over allegations they were wrongfully fired.

The former employees say they were fired for blowing the whistle on what they believed were ethical violations committed by their boss.

They claim the CEO told them their salaries would be slashed by 40% and they would be stripped of their titles for being unqualified, overpaid and withholding information.

"The retaliation and the targeting swept over us like a tidal wave washing away a century of service," says Thomas Flanagan, former employee of Girl Scouts of Suffolk County.

The former employees say they want to prevent future acts of retaliation for workers who point out alleged wrongdoing.

The Girl Scout Council of Suffolk County told News 12 that the organization will not comment on pending litigation.
