Teen arrested for stealing FedEx packages worth nearly $100K in Nassau

An 18-year-old has been arrested for stealing from a FedEx location in Nassau County.

Denys Hryshchenko, of Staten Island, used fake identification to obtain two packages worth $97,000 before fleeing the scene, Nassau police say.

The incident happened on Apr. 23 at the FedEx on Newbridge Road in Hicksville.

After a thorough investigation, police arrested the teen on Monday without incident.

Hryshchenko is being charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument, identity theft, grand larceny and unlawful possession of personal identifying information.

Detectives are asking anyone who feels they may have also been a victim of the man to contact the Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
