Today on Super Tuesday, Long Islanders will be voting on their school district budgets.
The South Country School District is considering the highest tax increase, which is more than 13%, or $750 per year.
It is looking to raise taxes and cut jobs to fill a multi-million-dollar budget gap heading into 2027.
Rockville Centre is also considering eliminating some teaching positions.
The district was considering piercing the state tax cap but reversed its course.
It's asking voters for a 2.06% increase.
Six other school districts aside from South Country will need a super majority, or 60% of the vote.
The school districts are:
Bayport-Blue Point
Greenport
Islip
Lynbrook
Shelter Island
Uniondale
