A man is dead after Suffolk County police said he drowned in his Islip Terrace backyard pool on Sunday afternoon.
It happened at 174 Irish Lane at approximately 3:15 p.m.
Detectives say a friend discovered 64-year-old Seamus McGuikian unresponsive in the pool.
McGuikian was pulled from the water and pronounced dead at the scene.
Police believe there is no criminality in the incident.
It was not immediately clear how McGuikian ended up drowning.
