Two people made it out of a Nassau County house fire safely after smelling smoke Sunday evening.
The Bethpage Fire Department received a call for the blaze at 27 Arthur Avenue around 5:30 p.m.
Upon arrival, fire crews discovered that the adult occupants of the two-story home had already self-evacuated.
Approximately 75 firefighters from six local volunteer departments got the scene under control in about 20 minutes, fire officials say.
No injuries were reported, but the occupants are currently displaced due to no power at the residence.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Nassau County Fire Marshal’s office and the Nassau Police Arson/Bomb Squad.
