Exclusive surveillance video shows the moment thieves stole a work van belonging to a longtime Long Island business owner, making off with more than $60,000 worth of tools and equipment.

The video, recorded around 3:30 a.m. last Thursday on Raynor Avenue in Ronkonkoma, shows three people attempting to open the doors of multiple trucks parked outside businesses before targeting a van owned by Raymond Goff, owner of All Star Doors.

“I saw on the video the guy pulled the side door open and climb in through the side, and he somehow got my truck started and took off with it,” Goff said.

Goff has operated All Star Doors for more than 30 years and said the theft has had a devastating impact on both his business and personal life.

“The impact on my life ... I feel like someone died, you know, you took my livelihood away,” he said.

According to police, the van was recovered later that day on the side of the Long Island Expressway. Goff said he spotted it himself while driving to work and pulled over to inspect the damage.

“When I got there, there was nothing inside of it,” Goff said. “A puddle of oil and water. I guess they decided to beat on it.”

He said all of the tools and equipment stored inside the vehicle were missing.

The theft is not an isolated incident in the area. Goff said several neighboring businesses have also been targeted.

The owners of Chris Party Rentals, located next door to All Star Doors, said their van was stolen in March and later recovered in Yaphank after being emptied of its contents.

“People over here, they work real hard, and they deserve to be left alone just to make money, just to get by,” Goff said.

Police are asking anyone with information about the theft to contact investigators.
