The Manorville Fire Department is preparing for its fourth annual Smoked Rib Competition on July 18, bringing together 17 barbecue teams, including News 12's own team, the News Bytes.
It will also feature live music, family activities and hundreds of hungry guests.
Organizers say this year's event will feature 10,000 ribs, vendors, a mechanical bull, obstacle courses and plenty of barbecue as teams compete for top honors and the coveted People's Choice Award.
Lt. Andrew Preli says the event has continued to grow each year, with many of the same teams returning to compete.
Guests pay one admission price and can sample ribs from every team, vote for their favorites, and enjoy food, drinks and entertainment throughout the day.
Beyond the barbecue, the fundraiser helps support community programs run by the Manorville Fire Department.
Proceeds help fund local scholarships, stock food pantries, assist families in need, and support holiday outreach efforts.
Organizers hope another strong turnout this year will allow them to continue giving back while providing a fun summer event for the community.
