Police are searching for a woman who they say stole a taxi from its driver in Ocean Hill.

The robbery unfolded around 9 a.m. on June 7 near Eastern Parkway and Atlantic Avenue. Police say the incident started when the woman began arguing with the driver.

They say the woman slapped the 48-year-old driver in the face before gaining control of the car and driving away.

The driver turned down medical attention at the scene, according to the NYPD.

Police released an image of the woman, who is seen wearing her hair in a long ponytail with a black sweatshirt and black sweatpants with "Alo" branding on the leg.

Anyone with information about her whereabouts is urged to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
